Phillip H. Phan, Ph.D., is Alonzo and Virginia Decker Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and Core Faculty at the Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality with a courtesy appointment as Professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine.
He researches the governance of entrepreneurial and family enterprises. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed research papers and is author of 8 books in the domains of governance, technology innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is Editor of the Academy of Management Perspectives, and Associate Editor for the Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Technology Transfer, and Journal of Family Business Strategy.
Phil has served on the boards of venture backed companies, consulted with Fortune 50 companies, and advised such public agencies as the World Bank, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, National Academies of Sciences, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and Science Foundation Ireland.
